What do you buy a teenager for birthday or Christmas? This is one dilemma which has slowly been getting harder over the last few years. Whereas once I could rely on gadgets and adventure tools, I now find myself crawling the walls looking for something suitable for my eighteen year old.
Technology is still a good bet though, but it has to be in consultation with the young adult. If you just go to your nearest Internet Phone Provider and pick up any old handset you are onto a sure loser. But take the time to discuss with your son what he actually wants and it could be the hit of the year.
Let's face it; it has to be the latest, coolest phone! Computer related gadgets are also quite popular and it is harder to go wrong with these, such as an unbreakable memory stick or light up hub expander.
Weirdly enough, the oldies are making a comeback. You could have knocked me down with a feather when my son asked for a record player – yes an old style record player! But of course with the latest technology so that he could download the old tracks to his MP3 player.
My old 33's are therefore getting a comeback and whilst my son is usually pretty embarrassed by his parents, suddenly the music from my youth is cool once more!
